Avian Reid earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional English from Claflin University in 2004. She continued at ORU to earn a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling in 2008 and since has become a licensed professional counselor and a registered play therapist.
Avian is a Certified Anger Management Specialist II and is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), Psychological First Aid, and is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator.
Avian volunteers as a Mental Health Professional for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services with training in Disaster Relief and has significant training in childhood trauma and PTSD. She specializes in evidenced-based practices for her clients and engages in therapy from a holistic approach.
Avian provides Anger Management and Domestic Violence classes that are court and employer mandated. Avian has memberships with National Anger Management Association (NAMA) and Play Therapy Association.
